Honey Island (41490 Crawford Landing Rd , Slidell, LA 70461, USA)

What would be New Orleans without their Bayou and swamps everywhere?  Honey Island is offering swamp tours that would be perfect to put us in the Southern mood. It’s easy to see how the beauty of nature surrounds you in Honey Island Swamp. We can find a lot of animals in this place, including alligators, raccoons, owls, wild boars, nutria, snakes, turtles, bald eagles and black bears. Plenty for our eyes to see. Guides natives from the South will bring us to the deepest corners of New Orleans iconic swamp, telling us stories and drowning us into some Louisiana’s favorite views . The orange of Louisiana’s setting sun, darkened by the shadows of cypress trees and fleeting birds, should take your breath away while on the tour. It is a Louisiana’s best to visit, and to enjoy the contrast of the nature and the climate of this Southern paradise.

New Orleans Lager & Ale Brewery (3001 Tchoupitoulas St,New Orleans, LA 70115,USA)

We all know that Hurricane Katrina devastated a lot on her way in New Orleans. Since the tragedy, there was no commercial brewery that crafted beer since the Dixie Brewing Company was closed. But what raised from the ashes of the crafting world after Katrina , is quite a gem ; The New Orleans Lager & Ale Brewery. First brewing company after the Hurricane that craft its own beer and distributing it on the Market. I will be glad to stop there to discover what Southern feel this brewery have.  NOLA Brewing Company is currently served in bars throughout the Southeast United States, as well as full sized kegs and draft packs sold at grocery stores throughout Louisiana (in case you want to bring some more). They are crafting up to 10 beers at once, from Year-Round , to Seasonal ones and they have as well some Series brewed.  We can have a tour from the brewery itself, which seem to be quite big, and friendly. The taproom is really festive which brings us to the down-to-earth and jazzy feel or New Orleans.  Definitively a must-go, mostly because this is beer crafting (you know) and the ambiance is looking more than awesome for me to miss this.

Mercedes-Benz Superdome ( 1500 Sugar Bowl Dr, New Orleans, LA 70112, USA)

superdome

Located in the Central Business district in Downtown New Orleans, The Dome, as so local calls, is the home of the New Orleans Saints, a NFL Football team.  This fascinating structure with those amazing lights reflecting the New Orleans vibe, is said to be a marvel and a legend in the arena culture. Definitively worth the visit, and of course why not stop by to see some real action too? Seeing a Football game in any city of the United-States is exciting anyway, and it is always interesting to know how is the ambiance in the stadium of the city you are visiting. Some say as well that when you are in New Orleans, you always feel welcomed. It is the same when you enter the Dome.  Saints fan are said to be the best welcoming and kind ones with the opposite team fans. It is saying as well that everywhere in the Stadium, you have an amazing view of the field. One thing is for sure is that I surely want to experience all those things that was just mentioned, one day, when I will be visiting this amazing place called New Orleans.

When visiting a specific city, I always want to stop by something really representative of it, such as a landmark, or something historical about the town. For today’s segment of this article about New Orleans, I’ve chose The French Quarter, which turns to be a district that is considered a National Historic Landmark. There is a lot to do within this quarter. From fancy restaurant to dive-in bars, you can live the New Orleans life within this magical place, with just walking and wandering around. It is the oldest neighborhood in New Orleans , which means there is lot of Historical buildings that we can catch the sight of, and be amazed by their French architectural style. It is the most spirited and electrifying district of the city, where depending of the time of the year, we can enjoy music festivals, and all different types of attraction. The Never Boring New Orleans has just finally confirmed all its meaning.. What a place to feel the freedom and excitement of being a living soul right ?

View of the city and the Crescent City Connection, the twin bridges passing the Mississippi River.

In resume, New Orleans is all about beauty and experiencing the divine through mortal senses. There’s joy there, from great food to the best concert of your life, and serenity. Peace.  This town gives people soft eyes the moment they step out the door.An international seaport with direct water connections to half the United States, New Orleans would not exist without the Mississippi River. Its roots are deep in the saturated soils of the delta; its history is a pageant of canoes, rafts, paddle-wheels, and barges from mid-America converging with sails and steamships from around the world. Under four flags New Orleans has grown from a tiny swamp outpost populated by French convicts to a major economic center, a sports-minded city of rare elegance, culture, and high spirits. New Orleans, please let us in.
